Crop Circles or Agriglyphs (frequent news item but usually on the paranormal grapevine)
On-going debate over whether the origin is extraterrestrial or natural or humans hoaxing; and what is their purpose?
There are a few hoaxers but they cannot bend plants into complex weavings without breaking them. They cannot change the seeds such that they are genetically superior within the formations compared to those outside the formations. They have no explanations for how the most monstrous and complex designs might be executed within a few hours in the dead of night without so much as a trace of a path in or out of the formation area. Nor has there been reasonable explanation for sounds and sights coming for formation fields, such as low mechanical hums and spinning balls of light.
Science is trying to make it a natural phenomenon, which would be a flying theory if these were only simple circles. However, the magnificent designs, often laid out in precise geometric or mathmetical configurations, bespeaks intelligence, not an errant dust devil. It would be a fete indeed for a ball of plasma without sentience to create a formation such as my favorite, the one at Barbury Castle (1991). Rather complex and creative for a flibbit of light.
The messages of the Crop Circles are as yet unclear, for the most part. Their interpretation is not really the issue at the moment. The issue is communication. This is a kinder, gentler way for us to be contacted by those who do not live in human form on this planet. This has been an idea for some time and after seeing the responses to more direct contact (see Alien Abductions), it has been determined that this method may serve better, reach more people, and yet create less panic or fear. Individuals are welcome to get whatever message they wish from each formation they see, but the over all message is the perverbial "You are not alone." or even more accurately, "We are with you."

On-going debate over whether these events are real, unreal, truly extraterrestrial or not, and why governments, especially the US government, continues to say it's all bogus.
Some contact is real, some not. Indeed, we are not alone. Indeed, we are frequently visited. The primary drive behind close encounters is contact, not intentional harm. Contact has been intended to begin slowly and gradually build to undeniability, but without hostility or panic. Those who feel they have been violated by alien abductors may have been, for corruption is not unique to humans. However, it is more likely that adjustments to memory (intended to obfuscate the visitation) causes deep-seated fears to surface. It's a matter of tapping into the subconscious and on the way back out, some of that tangle is brought into consciousness. In a sense, the aliens are tampering with humans on the same level where dreams and nightmares come from. That's a pandora's box and one cannot always get the lid closed properly. Then again, some leakage is intentional. Physical effects occur because we control physicality, completely, even though most of us are not aware of this power. The tampering is not malicious. It is not mind control. It's simply an attempt to selectively cover one's tracks for the conscious mind while making clean contact with the subconscious. Since the human mind is very complex, this is not easy.
Why do close encounters happen to some people and not others? There are a few reasons. One is that visitations are not always reported, and rarely taken seriously by the media, so far. Thus many more have been visited than the public may ever know. Also, more have been visited than those who even recall it consciously. Another reason for the seeming hit-and-miss is opportunity, such as isolated locations and individuals. It is not yet the intention of ETs to announce their presence with a War-of-the-Worlds-type appearance of a fleet of craft in the skies. That radio debacle was in fact a test to see our reaction and we failed. They cannot be forthright about wanting to contact us. Taking human tendencies into account, this would likely cause very harmful behavior. We fear (and dissect) that which we do not understand. We trample each other to death at crowded leisure events, how much more damage might we do if we thought we were under global invasion? And we know that is the assumption we'd make under a mass visitation.
So, the plan is to 'leak' the presence of extraterrestrial neighbors into the populace. Governments aren't hiding anything other than their incompetence. They can neither explain nor completely squelch the visitation info. They don't know what it's about and they won't admit it, or, won't release info clearly until they think they know what kind of tiger they have by the tail.

Cracks in the Earth's solar shield (news item - Dec 2003)
Being interpreted by science as a recent anomaly, and a vulnerability, ie detrimental to our well-being.
Bunk. Science has simply found the cause of the aurora borealis, the light and energy halo effect which we sometimes call the Northern Lights. A recent increase in the intensity of solar flares (CMEs - Coronal Mass Ejections) are likely causing flecks and spikes in this halo, but it is not a new mechanism. It is not a result of ozone layer depletion or global warming or pollution or any of their favorite excuses blaming human behavior. The shape of the Earth's electromagnetic field (EMF) is like a double bubble. One bubble is always positioned between the Earth and the Sun. The other flows around the Earth and stretches out behind our path, not unlike the tail of a comet. The juncture of these two 'bubbles', or two segments of the field, is where a purer stream of solar wind contacts the Earth's atmosphere directly and that causes the circular light show. It is the Sun feeding us energy (lifeforce!) and our EMF helping to regulate and redistribute it. It is not a crack, flaw, or true anomaly. It is a fluctuation in the normal process. We're just slow in noticing it.

Who/What is God? (age old topic)
Debated for as long as there have been humans capable of discussion or quandry?
There's a hint. Do animals have a concept of God? Do they wonder who should be credited for sunshine or rain? Animals know, instinctively, that what is IS. They do not question it. Thanks to our intelligence, we question almost everything, except for the things we deem sacred. So, our questioning asked about God and answered it and we've done it for so long that we don't allow any more questioning about God, at least not without a fight, sometimes to the death. Somehow, I'm thinking that if there was a God as we've tried to describe him, he wouldn't really like that whole idea.
God, is simply a tag we put on what IS. It is only through generations of human-to-human manipulation that we've designed complex descriptions, rules, punishments, and rewards to associate with God. Notice that miracles and direct contact with God has slacked off to almost nothing. The Bible and similar books tell of such things as near daily occurrences and yet today there aren't a handful of events in a decade that we might all consider miraculous. Why is that? Well, we're a bit smarter. We're not just shepherds and farmers anymore. We have been taking apart the universe to see how it ticks and that has caused Science to believe that's all there is, just material parts. Meanwhile, some Religion sectors believe that Science is bunk (ref: Creationists, ie, Anti-Evolutionists).
Man created God... as an answer, as an excuse, as a reward, as a punishment, etc. We once understood that we, humans, are part of the big picture, the whole picture, and no other parts are lesser or greater, just different. All the parts work together, individually or collectively, to keep the whole of everything, the universe, in perpetual and infinite operation. We are energy, just like the stars, just like light. We who are in human form at the moment are encased in matter but it's a temporary thing and when we leave this sector, we simply move to another.
So how did all the God stuff get started? Part of it was an innocent and naive attempt to explain what we did not understand or could not define, while we were developing language and naming or describing everything else.This left opportunities for us to completely misinterpret events and contact with those outside our human level of experience. God was like News. It doesn't describe the ordinary or common experience, just the strange, unusual, or dramatic. So how did we tag God? Well, for instance, a being with more experience in the universe might have known about the upcoming passage of a comet and could predict the effects on the surface of this planet. He might have warned a certain sector, perhaps through a single person who might be considered a leader among the other humans. He might have instructed that person on how to escape the hazards and also take advantage of them.
So then Moses wrote down his version of what happened and a few thousand years later we still believe it was all the miraculous action of God. Even though the very same sort of thing has happened since, we somehow missed the connection? Was it not God on subsequent occasions? Or maybe there was something special about Moses instead? Tecumseh predicted a comet, a solar eclipse, and the great 1811/1812 earthquake that shook up middle America all the way to the east coast. The Mississippi River even went dry in spots and ran backward in others, very much like the Red Sea during the Exodus. This more recent upheaval was also accompanied by extremely strange behavior of insects and animals, and an increase in plague-like human diseases. So who took up the banner of the Great Spirit for performing exactly the same thing as Moses and his God did in Egypt? No one. And today, we're beginning to understand about a passing comet pulling at the Earth, jarring the EMF, unsettling animals and insects who live by that for navigation, creating tension among humans, causing volcanic and earthquake activity, etc. So... God alone, miraculously, did those things in Moses' day, but by the 1800's it was an indian with some strange ideas who just happened to know what was going to happen, and now when they occur we write it off to Nature with some scientific footnotes. So are we really saying that such things occurred by completely different means between then and now?
No. What is IS... No matter what we call it... No matter how obstinate we get over the details we ourselves devise. When we realize that we are integral to the ALL, no exclusions, no separations, then we might just be able to really enjoy this eternal infinity. Everyone can define God anyway they want to, as long as they realize that's what they're doing, and they don't fight over it.

Is the Bible truth?
Yes and No.
The Bible is a local history, some of which may be true. Such is the case with all other similar documents (Quoran, Tao, etc). They were written down BY and intended to apply TO select groups of people. The Bible is not the whole truth, nor is it nothing but the truth. This is obvious from the beginning, yes, right up front in Genesis. Adam and Eve, reportedly the only two humans on the planet, had two sons. One of them killed the other, then ran off to marry a gal in the land of Nod? How did she get there? Some people twist genetics beyond reason and claim Cain married one of his sisters. Let's just pretend for a moment that the offspring from siblings are viable (which they aren't.) Even if you can buy this, what was Cain's future wife doing way over in Nod? It just doesn't add up.
Let's look at it more scientifically. We know that there are a limited number of human blood types: A, B, AB and O. We know that A and B are co-dominant, and O is recessive. In other words, only two O parents can have an O child, and an O child can only be the product of two O parents. If any parent within a person's entire lineage is anything other than O, then that person cannot be O. They will be A or B or AB. So this means all of us did NOT descend from one pair of humans. Otherwise, there would be no O's or there would be ALL O's. So Adam and Eve may have been blood type O, but since there are humans on this planet who are A, B, or AB... they did not descend from Adam and Eve. Or, maybe the A's and B's descended from Adam and Eve, but the O's came from somewhere else entirely. Someone else was cooking up humans besides the Bible's God, or the Bible omitted some really vital and basic information about the very origin of humanity. Either way, the Bible is a local and limited history. I dare say that Noah's flood wasn't about the whole world either, just the part they knew about. That means the Mediterranean and Red Sea may have overrun their shores, but we'd have to look into other group mythologies and histories to find out whether any place else was affected at the same time.
