Griffen's Arcanum
No topic is covered thoroughly here. These are my notes which serve my purposes and curiosity. I make no promises. I welcome discussion. I will not entertain arguments. I'm not saying I'm right, but neither am I wrong. The same goes for you.

Dragons... Fiction or fantasy? Imaginative dinosaurs or overgrown reptiles? Why do they fascinate? What is it that attracts us to thoughts of serpentine, winged, scaled, leathery, ridged, flying and/or lumbering 'monsters'? What is the origin of such dragonal creations... or are they ancient memories?

Are we experiencing echoes from our early eons of evolution? Or do the spirits of such beasts still remain with us, very present, albeit invisible? Have we merely conjured such creatures to explain things we do not understand or to tag patterns for which we have no source to credit?

What purpose, psychological or otherwise, is served by the imagery of giant leathery wings creating massive shadows upon an otherwise serene landscape? Why are dragons ancient, wise, slow of speech and miserly with trinkets? Are they? Were they? If indeed they ever were at all?
