Edgar Cayce's Atlantis
Firstly, I must say that Cayce's writings are sometimes so heavily laced with judgemental godspeak that I find it difficult to wade through for the real information. His western culture and religious roots were showing and in my opinion that taints his objectivity, seriously clouding his clairvoyance ('clair' meaning 'clear' and that clarity is naturally compromised by filtering). His manner of speech was quite circular and confusing, which can be forgiven for the fact that he was sleeping while dictating to a stenographer, and not in one continuous stretch but in the segmented context of his readings.
Despite all of this, his accounts feel roughly correct to me. Although he often flavored the whys and wherefores from his western christian perspective having to do with 'sins' and such, concepts irrelevant to the world he was describing, he was in fact describing some pretty amazing details.
Having given that disclaimer, the following are notions I have gleaned from Edgar Cayce's Atlantis for which I have comments. These notations are not quotes, but simply recount some of Cayce's ideas on Atlantis, as I have read them. This is certainly not a complete list of anything, just as a few of my Cayce-related notes.
Cayce: Atlanteans migrated to Egypt prior to 10,500BC, with chronicles of 40,000 years of history for Atlantean civilization
This would not be ALL Atlanteans, but some Atlanteans migrated to Egypt. I can see migrations explaining the presence of pyramids in this area and all over the world, if the Atlantean civilization spread out and carried those concepts and such with them, propagating them, so to speak. I find the numbers given are not objectionable, although I haven't had any firm indications as yet of precisely when the Atlantean civilization ended, nor how long it existed. My suspicion is that the last destruction was around 10,000-12,000 years ago, then there was a fairly chaotic period of initial disaster recovery for the Earth, her remaining inhabitants, and others who chose to assist. This regrouping continued migrations which were started beforehand, with knowledge of the impending event. |
Cayce: Chronicles of Atlantean history will be found in a buried pyramid near the Sphinx, being "The Hall of Records"
I believe these Records are mixed up with what some have come to call the Akashic Records. Whether this is physical documentation or ethereal is up for debate, although many claim we can access this information through spiritual means either way. Even if the Record is physical, would we know it when we see it? Will it be hieroglyphic writings on walls? Or rolls of scrolls? Or a collection of crystals carrying data like microchips? Cayce's references are simply too vague and could be discounted as a wild guess. Then again, a whole lot of old questions would be answered if we found such a Record, and would likely prompt us to pose a whole new round of fascinating questions. My suspicion is that there are physical and non-physical records, stored in several places including Egypt, and the information may be accessed either way but of course the 'world' may only believe physical evidence. |
Cayce: Many persons living on the Earth now and in the past were part of Atlantis.
I agree with this because I 'know' it, in that intuitive, revealed way, the same way that Cayce apparently knew it. I believe that the Atlantean civilization preceded our earliest notion of human history. The destruction of Atlantis was an ending which became the beginning for this human era. That makes us all descendants of Atlantis in one way or another. I also believe in reincarnation or the ability to revisit this earthly plane, perhaps via time traveling too. Thus countless persons living now have part of Atlantis stored within them. Even if it is not available consciously, I believe it is recorded in our subconscious and even in our DNA. We just haven't been keen enough to know how to read it as yet. |
Cayce: Egypt and Bimini (Bahamas) are two primary Atlantis locations
From what I see, this is only partially true. Egypt and the Bahamas appear to be 'suburbs' of what were once major Atlantean outposts. In my understanding, what we've been trying to peg as locations for Atlantis are actually the places where surviving Atlanteans scattered after the destruction, or perhaps just prior, for those who had an idea of what was to come and fled the dangerous centers of power.
Over and over I see explanations which first say "Atlantis was destroyed" or "Atlantis was lost" and then they proceed to tell where it is, now. IF it was destroyed and/or lost, it is NOWHERE now. There is nothing left but remnants and they are not going to scream "Atlantis was here!" This is a highly perturbing failure in simple logic to which most have fallen prey. It is equally illogical to say that a whole Powerful Highly Advanced Utopian Civilization was located on a teensy island or in a pocket location on this big Earth. What we can look at are only leftovers; the original has been gone for thousands of years.
Additional Cayce notations do refer to the Yucatan as another location for Atlantean migration and records. This is definitely a place I see as a refuge for survivors of the destruction. As noted elsewhere, I believe the major locations of Atlantis were in the Caribbean/Central America, and the South Pacific islands, although we've only the remains of those centers today. OTHER locations which Casey cites (Gobi, Sargasso Sea, etc) may be from previous eras of Atlantean history here, ie, before the last era and its destruction. Some of those sites were likely selected again as places of refuge to begin the current era. |
Cayce: Connected the Mound Builders to Atlantis, as those having migrated "northward from Yucatan, settling in what is now a portion of Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio."
I know this to be true for even in this lifetime my family roots are from the area of Serpent Mound in southern Ohio. I feel this actually connects me to the search, ie, genetically and geographically reinforces my connection to Atlantis, all these generations and even millenia later. These links seem to be markers or arrows, getting my attention so I can fulfill my agenda for this tour of duty. My parents moved south into central Kentucky just before I was born. I have since been drawn westward by circumstances beyond my control and in effect have been retracing the steps of the Mound Builders. I now wonder how far south I may end up and how close to the starting point of the original migration. |
| There will surely be more of these in future, as I run across them in Cayce readings. |
