Tracing the Circuit I wanted to try to trace the power circuit I had proposed, which made energy available to the surface by using the Earth's EMF. I decided to flatten out the diagram and see if I could depict the actual schematic of this thing. The circuit would be cutting across the Earth's vertical axis, approximately the plane of the equator, so..
The diagram at left is a view from the North Pole perspective. The pole and/or Earth's axis is marked with the small center circle. The outer black circle would be the Earth's equator. The numerical notations are longitudes. Prime Meridian is marked at the bottom right (0°). The diagram is rotated just to make the red and blue circuit pattern easier to see.
Beginning at the top left of this diagram, just for some place to start in the loop... The first node is Challenger Deep (11N 142E, marked IN) at the end of the Mariana Trench in the Pacific, the deepest point in any ocean. The energy flows through the Earth to the next node, Hess Deep (3N 101W) which is the triple junction of the Cocos, Nazca and Pacific tectonic plates. Marked here by OUT in the bottom left corner of the diagram. At Hess Deep the energy flows back out to the surface. Some follows clockwise (westward) near the equator because of the counterclockwise rotation of the Earth. This portion may return to the interior via Challenger Deep. That which is available eastward (counterclockwise) from Hess Deep is picked up by the next nearest node: Milwaukee Deep (20N 65W, IN at bottom center) in the Puerto Rico Trench, the second deepest point in any ocean. The circuit goes into the Earth again, through the core of the Earth, across its axis. That next connection node is an apparently unnamed deep (11S 110E) in the Java/Sunda Trench (OUT, top center). It is the third deepest point in any ocean, although the deepest in the Indian Ocean.
Again, some energy flowing out from the Java/Sunda deep may return via Challenger Deep, but the other portion flowing clockwise (west) would be picked up by the next nearest node. According to my calculations, this should be in the vicinity of 29S 73E, which is likely the Rodriguez triple junction of the African, Austrailian, and Antarctic plates in the Indian Ocean. I have not had time to get into the bathymetry to pinpoint this one precisely. (IN, top right) (actual 26S 70E ?)
The circuit then goes back into the Earth and crosses to a place near the Azores (OUT, bottom right), actually a triple junction of the Eurasian, African, North American plates. (40N 30W ? ) The return circuit then is from this point to Milwaukee Deep, through the Earth to Java/Sunda, to Challenger Deep... and there we start all over. There is an inherent redundancy in the thing which I've tried to illustrate with the red and blue lines. Note that the direction of flow in the 'crossbeams' through the Earth is the same within each pair of red and blue lines, regardless of the incoming direction of the flow from the surface (east or west). But also note the perpetuality of the circuit. There really is no beginning or end. It is an infinite loop. It's a damned efficient scheme which would allow the drawing of energy from the Earth to the surface for use but returning as well so as not to disrupt the natural EMF flow. It's merely a borrowing, of sorts, and would likely be a broad enough band to supply along the equator out into the temperate zones in both hemispheres. Now if we only knew the details of the devices used to make this work.... and exactly how they went awry, thus disintegrating in the great cataclysm, leaving only the magnetic and geological anomalies as evidence.
