The End of the Beginning - A Story of Destruction Atlanteans had a level of understanding which allowed the expert use of natural forces, such as solar energy, electromagnetism, and the vast properties of Earth materials, so that power could be generated and distributed freely across the globe. All else could be accomplished from there. The comprehension of energy was such that various energies could be used to execute almost any task, from lighting the night to healing bodies to transportation. Sometimes mechanisms were employed to transform energies and direct their use. In other cases, skilled Atlanteans were themselves capable of this redirecting and transforming. Atlanteans recognized more types of energy than we acknowledge today. Not only were forces like electricity, magnetism, and gravitation known to be workable, but light, sound, and emotion were also available for conscious manipulation in tangible reality. Unfortunately, Atlanteans had a better understanding of the more ethereal concepts and not quite as thorough a grasp on the physical/material ones, particularly in the context of this planet. The cycles of the Earth are in some cases so long or irregular that sufficient observation had not been conducted prior to stepping into an ultimately fatal contract with the Earth and her natural forces. These cycles are influenced by and include interactions with the rest of the solar system, the galaxy and the passage of other space bodies or clusters. Atlanteans did enter the contract with Earth somewhat cautiously, for there had already been experience on Mars, and much was learned from that endeavor. Actually, the Earth had proven to be quite a fortunate place for a very long time. Energy stations were established near the magnetic equator. The power stations were positioned and triangulated with each other to form a virtual coil on a plane perpendicular to the Earth's magnetic axis. Cutting across the Earth's own dynamo power in this way allowed the Atlanteans to generate quite an abundant supply of energy for surface use. Once this was made available, receptors around the globe could draw from the magnified ambient energy and convert it into mechanical energy or make it available locally for general use. It is as yet unclear to me what precisely upset this perpetual energy loop, but something definitely did, with globally disasterous results. It is as yet unclear, but entirely possible, that the drain on the Earth's EMF was simply too much or suddenly pulsed in such a way as to temporarily disrupt the loop to create havoc. It's also possible that a space object or a rare Earth event (ala realignment with solar and/or galaxy ecliptic, or particularly close passage of a large comet, etc) was unexpected and the power stations simply could not compensate quickly enough or at all. However, I get the distinct impression that ultimately it came down to an error in judgement. There was a moment of choice at which a wide safety margin was purposely narrowed in order to draw more power from the system. Although function continued for a while, the destruction made it clear that the increased risk was too high. There were warning shudders from the Earth, and objections from those who were sensitive to the growing imbalance, but many in power chose to ignore them. Finally, the circuit overloaded and the stations were destroyed. Because of the volume of energy involved, with the Earth as the source, a great devastation was loosed upon the planet. Whatever wrench was thrown into the system, the power sites were quite suddenly out of sync, or out of phase. This created an overload in each station because they were no longer processing the energy flow properly. In a matter of hours, the force of energy which should have passed harmlessly through the artificial circuit began to expand exponentially at each location. During proper operation, the energy fields were manipulated within controlled dimensions by way of a boundary to keep the field a managable size. When this boundary was breached, the catastrophy was irretrievably set in motion. The asynchronicity grew larger in geometric proportions. In fact, all the stations experienced an uncontrolled energy spiral effect. I have called the spiraling effect, the Nautilus Wave, because a small imbalance in the creation of many seashells results in spiraling. Most seashells develop this with an upward or downward growth to make a conical shape. But in the case of the chambered nautilus, the form is bound to one plane, ie, a flat spiral, not conical. Under normal operation, the power sites made use of this dynamic. But, when the imbalance occurred, the spiraling left the controlled plane and exceeded the artificially set boundaries. The energy replicated from each station, moving in a somewhat circular expansion. Even as it began to spiral upward into the air, it also drilled downward into the Earth. The power generators spun out of control with this effect. Devastation in each area was due to more than simple energy waves. This was more than a wild whip of electricity or magnetism like a downed power line. With the complex combination of energy involved, there was more than just the force of the energy, for each wave held particles of matter as well, particles which cut through land and sliced through the ocean in its ironically orderly fashion. As the Nautilus Waves progressed and chewed up the solid land, that debris was picked up into the force of the waves and further magnified the destructive power of each subsequent slice. When the power stations could no longer tolerate the forces and exploded, they flew apart in the direction of the energy/matter spin. With the power feed cut in this way, the Nautilus Waves continued on their own momentum until they were no longer able to sustain the motion. The backlash of energy, the partial crippling of the Earth's field, and the continued addition of a heavier load (in solid matter), plus encountering the somewhat neutralizing effect of the open sea, eventually slowed down the swirls. Even so, each Nautilus Wave had spun out into monumental tsnunamis with enough force to cross their respective ocean or land mass and commit further damage. These swirls also generated other more natural swirls, and for a time, the water and air and even some of the land upon the Earth, twisted in horrific whirlpools.
