~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tell Me A Story |
|
It's late in the evening on a cold winter's night. We sit here and talk by the flickering light. The hiss of the fire is a comforting sound As about it we all gather round. So we sit by the fire and each tell a tale Of heroes and dragons, or the Holy Grail, Or a brave clever maiden who rescues a king With the aid of a magical ring. So tell me a story and I'll tell one of mine Of why the sea's salty and why the stars shine. And with each sentence our wonder will grow There by the fire's warm glow. And when to our beds we go off to sleep Perhaps in our dreaming that wonder we'll keep. So we'll see the world's magic with different eyes In the morn when we waken and rise. So come sit by the fire and tell me your tale. Make dragons fly and warships sail. I'll listen to you in the firelight's shine And then I'll tell you one of mine. © 01/2004 Bill West |
