I see and hear the frustration with the world as it is. Things are certainly not as we'd wish them. However, those who are the most disturbed by this seem to be those who are pushing hardest to change it and feel as though they're getting no where. It's the pushing that's the problem, I think.
There is a huge heavy rock. It cannot be moved, even by a group of people. No amount of pounding, screaming, or ranting at the rock can move it. But, using a lever may make it possible to move the rock. Using energy, to cause a shaking in the ground beneath, may move the rock. Rerouting water to surround the rock may eventually shrink its mass and allow it to be moved or carried down stream. This is how physical things may be moved. Those who are bound by five senses and think only in terms of the physical plane are unaware of alternate methods for moving people in a more positive direction. Unlike a rock, most people when pushed will push back or firm up their resistance. Levers have been tried. There have been laws (God's and Man's), which we have difficulty enforcing. Great men, prophets and even iterations of the divine have each moved many, but always there is great division and so the overall change is not accomplished. Great disasters have shaken up masses of people and may move them for a while. Many roll back into their places after the dust clears. We've tried rivers of acid, threatening people with hellfire or eternities of nothingness, if they do not change, but this only motivates a percentage and it doesn't always last. These things do not work because, unlike rock, people will only be permanently moved by a change from within. And, we are not going to get there by pushing from the outside. When we step our focus away from the physical plane and realize there is more to people than their physical manifestation, then we can see how to effect changes we desire. EACH soul is a spark of the divine energy that IS the infinite. We exist in one large pool of energy, yet as individual spirits of independent will. When we change our own thoughts, our own energy, we change the pool by that much. If we make contact with another soul and share compassion and joy with them, then we add to the light in the pool. THAT is how we can move this rock. Touch those within your reach and they will touch those with whom they come in contact and so on and so on. Don't try to push other people with your beliefs, just BE who you want to see in the world and in doing so, create the world you want to live in. There is nothing passive about this activity. It may take many lifetimes, sometimes at hard labor, to become your full self and the sort of person you want to see in the world. There's plenty of work to do and this work will be infinitely more effective in achieving your goal than pushing at rocks. Just my open onion (and belief to my very core). 05.15.2001 |
