There's always a lot of talk about healing and becoming
perfect and pure and all of that. It implies that we're broken and in
need of fixing. I believe that the perception of brokenness may be at the
base of many, if not all, of our ills.
We are not broken. Or perhaps we are broken but truly only in one way, that we cannot or will not accept ourselves and each other 'as is' (including whatever we become). Put another way, we will not Release to who we truly are. The semantics are so difficult for this. I know it and feel it but saying it, so it may be understood while we're in transition, is really tough. Acceptance and Release are very difficult topics but that's what we need. How to convey these concepts which make everything very simple but to extremely complex depths? I guess it could be called a Zen thing, but most people don't get the real impact of that either. Frustrating. Makes me wish I could somehow visit everyone and put a big "Approved" stamp on their forehead. Maybe I could use flavored ink and everyone could have fun getting other people to lick off the stamp then get back in line so they could get stamped again? Nah. There'd probably be some movement claiming that some colors/flavors were inferior to others. *sigh* Then, you know, they'd wanna call me the Almighty Stamper or something or maybe there'd be attempts on my life 'cause others would wanna weild the stamp and... Nevermind. You know what it is? We've been trying to figure out The LAWS. All other citizens of the Universe seem to have neatly packaged sets of Laws to live by, to help them, to make life more like following the dotted line. It's what we've witnessed in the physical world for millenia. Well, we aren't made that way. We are not celestial bodies required to rigidly follow the physical laws of motion and interaction. We are not amoeba and paramecium, totally absorbed in consumption and reproduction. We are not animals whose Laws are more complex but still mostly cover obtaining water, food, shelter and continuance through procreation. We are FREE spirits, at least, we're designed that way. Because our bodies are made of matter, we are certainly subject to some of the same physical laws which govern celestial conduct (eg, gravity). These bodies also need sustenance, shelter/protection and we do indeed continue through procreation. HOWEVER, there is another level to who we are that is beyond the fray. There is a major aspect to us that is non-physical, and outside these Laws. It's not as comfortable out here maybe, especially right now when we're collectively beginning to realize that we are out here. We're still looking back for some of those comfy Laws or trying to mutate them, drag them out here with us. We're so reluctant to just see that we don't need them on this level. We've collectively made up a bunch of laws for spirit but they don't gel and we can't agree on them because we're still trying to apply static concepts to dynamic beings. We need to Accept who we are, individually and collectively. We need to Release ourselves TO ourselves and let go of the Laws that we have served because they do not fit our spiritual selves. This is what I mean when I say, "Be." We are outside the Box. Get used to it. Revel in the freedom. Let your spirit sing and dance and fly in it. Learn what you can from Yesterday, then let it go. Paint your own Today. Create! Then let Tomorrow happen. Be who you want to see in the world but realize your own sense of that may be anchored with who you think we have all been. Don't worry about who you're supposed to be. Accept who you are, right now, this very second. Now, start creating from your desires, whatever gives you joy and lightens your heart. Some part of you already knows how to do this. Release it. 05.19.2001 |
