Light & Dark

To take up violence in order to fight violence is to add to the darkness. It feeds on precisely that. The only way to roll back the darkness is to spread the light out so it disperses the shadows.

For example, the situation in Afghanistan, looks ominous. I read yesterday of Taliban calling for Hindus to wear badges. Alas, I can hear haunting echoes of goose-stepping soldiers and see the ghosts of ashes in the skies. We cannot allow that atrocity to be repeated, but to roll in with tanks will not bring resolution. No slap on the wrist, nor gun to their heads, will effect the change that needs to be made. It must come from within. Where we have access to that, is in the collective consciousness.

We can slay dark intentions with Light. We can direct our energies/prayers toward such areas in fact, and nuke them with love and compassion. We can blast darkness from its own shadows into the Light or on to another kingdom where it can make all the war it wants, but leave us out of it.

This living, loving planet has had enough of hate and dying. Whatever bile stirs in the bellies of hateful spirits, we need to try to soothe it. Anyone who wishes ill on another, must be deeply hurting within themselves. I wish them peace, joy and light.
