Who we are, away from these bodies and yet while experiencing ourselves
through them, has created and continues to create a rich living
tapestry of infinite proportions and variety. We each have the ability
to stitch in our own color, thread, pattern, and may change these at
will. We may stitch continously to make images or drop colors and
shapes here and there on whims.
There are patches, large blocks, which are the same color or a controlled pattern, where groups of us have chosen to work on one area in one way, using designated colors and threads. These patches may lie adjacent to wildly erratic forms and shapes which seemingly have no method at all. It's all beautiful. It's all creative. Stitch where you are, alone or in your chosen group. Do not remove the threads of another. Do not try to dictate what color or pattern they should use. Concentrate on your own work, lest you slip stitches in your own portion. However, even a slipped stitch here and there will add character to the piece. Compliment your neighbor on how unique and precious his work is, even if it means nothing to you otherwise. Appreciate his efforts. Help each other unknot the feeding threads, but don't stitch for another. Let them do their own work, even if it's crude, it will improve. In the grand pattern, it will all fit perfectly. Look up from your work now and then. Rest. Scan with amazement across the vast magnificence of our Tapestry. You will see that we are all artisans, each in his own way. 05.26.2001 |
