I see it this way... Jesus was sent to show us that an aspect of God himself, his son, could come into the world in the same way that we do. In fact, I believe that was his point, to show us that as God's children, we all arrive in the same way... from God to Earth, from spirit into body. Just as Jesus was a part of God, who came down to share our world, we each arrive here to live in these bodies for a while. We grow. We learn. We change. We interact with countless other souls in this world. Then, we leave these bodies behind as we rejoin God in spirit. We return from whence we came.
During life here in this world, Jesus had things he needed to learn and a certain way he needed to learn them. He had his own unique tasks to complete. His methods, his manner, his trials, his alliances and his enemies were all part of the path he was meant to walk. Each of us carries out our own unique curriculum, just as Jesus did. We are in no position to judge the path of any other spirit or their actions. Even those who killed Jesus had an important purpose to fulfill. Jesus' death and resurrection showed us that death is not the end. Jesus demonstrated that even without the body, the spirit remains. I believe this is true of every spirit, every soul, ever. Each spirit is with God before walking in this world and each spirit will return to God. In between, we may sometimes seem to be very far away from God, but truthfully, we are never away from the whole spirit that is God. His presence, knowledge and power are infinite. That means God encompasses all things, all creatures, all matter and energy, all spirits, all of us, always. Jesus was a special child and a part of God who accepted his place in the grand design. I believe that God was trying to explain to us that we had been punishing ourselves for our own mistakes but he wanted us to stop that. It wasn't really serving higher purposes. However, to reassure us, perhaps he was simply saying, "If you insist that someone has to pay for your mistakes, then... Here is my son. He will take all the blame for you. Now, learn the love and light and stop worrying about the mistakes so much." I believe this to the depths of my soul. God wanted us to get away from thinking about all the rules and punishments. He wanted us to get back to the real message of his love. Upon Jesus' resurrection, we are shown how we each may ascend and be folded once again into the presence, the knowledge, the power and the love of God. Truthfully, we never left. Jesus was never out of God's reach, nor are we. So, we do not have to wait for death to give us God's joy, light and love. We can claim it now and always. In the Trinity, we see the truth, that even as God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are three-in- one, we are each spirits and part of the whole of All That Is. It's not about death or suffering or even sacrifice. To me it's about light, joy, love and the lessons of Jesus' life and death and resurrection that showed us how we fit into the grand scheme. We are the grand scheme. Every single one of us has a role to play and to get the most from it, all we have to do is recognize that we're all in it together. It doesn't matter what we call this togetherness. Everything is everything. Everything is one thing and we are each a part of that, no matter what flavor we might be within it. The only condemnation would be living without this knowledge, this belonging, by turning our backs to it or living in fear of it. That would truly be a woeful existence. I further believe that God's message was relayed this way for those who needed to see/hear/experience it in this way. Some needed the Jewish version. Some needed the concept of Allah, etc. The only trouble is that we, being so physical and locked in stone ourselves, also locked these variations on a theme in stones and we still try to break them over each other's heads. We are living, evolving organisms. It stands to reason that everything about us is going to change. To try to prevent that creates a problem, but only because we have blinded ourselves to the ultimate solution: acceptance... even as the power that runs it all, accepts us all. 05.29.2001 |
