Spirit Play

I have to say that I must be either a very advanced spirit or an extremely naive one. I know that some people have already determined which. Newsflash: I am not disturbed by this judgement.

Most children do not have to be taught how to play. They already know how and it varies by child. They figure out how to play with each other, or by themselves, or both. We train the playfulness out of them with school then work. Later, if they're to be full, healthy, happy people, they have to learn how to play again. (ref: second childhood)

To me, going through any rigorous training for spirit work/play, would be like handing a two yr old a manual on Playing. Make them learn what it is, various methods, with whom, for how long, and in what way. That's ludicrous. Same for spiritual pursuits, in my opinion.

I am playing with my spirit, IN my spirit, I can take up some studies to see what's out there in the world, but my direct line between me and All That Is would be all I ever need to know. The rest is just fodder in different varieties to help me unlearn my worldliness. Now if I wrap myself in that stuff, then I have converted its helpfulness into a hindrance. (ref: growing mushrooms)

I also cringe to think that a bunch of kids would pile out onto a playground and spend the whole recess running around and asking, "What are we supposed to be playing?" Our agenda IS playing, not mastering the monkeybars or swinging the highest or spinning the carousel until we puke (although these may be individual goals ;)

Sometimes we can play a bit hard and hurt another. If we learn from that experience, then that shall suffice. No need to take a remedial course in 'playing'. If we get into a fight with some other kids, our spirits will survive. We'll carry some wounds, maybe scars. Again, if we learn from that, then it was useful experience.

For myself, I'm perfectly content to just play. The rest of my conduct will be guided by my own spirit. Since I am connected to All That IS, then that will certainly be sufficient guidance.
