(This is some fairly deep metaphysical/neo-spiritual discussion here, so if you're not into it, you'll want to skip it.)
In the past, we have worked at our ego and spiritual issues in fairly concrete ways by 'arranging' situations and associations to bring up these issues and give us opportunities to balance out karma or learn needed lessons. We have seemingly fallen into situations and, while we determine how to resolve them, we're working on who we are. I personally believe that our higher selves are aware of the cumulative lessons involved but we aren't usually consciously aware of them. We're just trying to muddle through. I think this has been changing because we are becoming more consciously aware of our spiritual selves and our accumulated understanding. This has been happening to individuals since the dawn of man, but I think it's happening to more and more individuals, sooner, and more thoroughly, with each subsequent generation. In fact, I believe that the progression is actually geometric. One does not trigger one, he may trigger four or five, or maybe a dozen. Each of them may trigger as many themselves. Thus, after a reasonably short time (a few thousand years of civilization?) even faster than the geometric population growth, there is a blossoming in the number of individuals who are consciously aware of more than the bare physical, instinctual realities of these lives. Add to that the methods of mass communication we've developed (writing, radio, telephone, television, internet) and it bursts into an evolutionary leap. So, what was once superstition or the rantings of a few [highly evolved] lunatics or savants, has been growing into understanding, conscious understanding, of ourselves, our higher spirits and our connectedness to All That Is. One of the greatest discoveries we've made is synthesis. It's ironic, in a way, that we may have come full circle on this very issue. I believe that we incarnate to experience life in a more concrete physical sense. Thus we have opportunities to play out our dramas and lessons as we'd like. But in doing so for thousands of years, we have also learned that it is not necessary to do it in this way. We can use mental and emotional constructs to simulate the dramas and lessons. The only difference between physicality and spiritual experience then would be the interaction. Somehow we haven't quite worked out how to get as much from either existence and so, for now, we use both. Still, I think the synthesis has been a recent paradigm shift or evolutionary development which is helping us to speed up the process. Whether we use psychology, esoteric arts or personal meditation techniques, I think we've learned (are learning) to effect healing and spiritual growth, for ourselves and others, without the previous requirement of physical manifestations. This implies that we're learning to detach or separate ourselves from the physical plane. It seems that deep spiritual awakening used to happen always as a result of something very drastic, like a near-death experience, debilitating or devastating illness, sudden or shocking death of a loved one, or a wide variety of catastrophies. I'd call these triggers a cosmic/soul "kick into play". These things still provide wakeup calls and soul hints to many but it appears that the call doesn't have to be so harsh anymore. Nor does it have to come from outside stimulus. This is an important point. For many who are now awakening, it's just a nudge from the spirit within, a soul urge of wanting to jump into the stream. We can be awakened with a much more gentle touch. Sometimes one bizarre dream or a short unexpected psychic/mental trip can be the laser beam of light that opens the way and sets us on our path consciously. This would be a call from within or a faster/easier recognition from within, instead of an external rap. For any who will insist that there must be suffering in order to learn or make progress, please note that this is indeed how we've always done it BUT that does not mean that is how we must always do it, in perpetuity. This is an organic, dynamic system and we should not get any more attached to hard metaphysical constructs than the physical ones. What I'm saying is, a lot of us haven't needed the ball bat this time around. We don't have to spend a whole lifetime setting up a classroom situation so that we can learn a lesson or pay off a karmic debt in a literal physical connection or circumstance. With a more evolved awareness, we can discover areas for growth with minimal triggers and clear karmic deficits by addressing the essence of the issues, rather than having to physically go through the actions. Some might argue that this easier awakening may only apply to the current incarnation of many 'light beings' who have come to assist in the leap we're about to make. That's possible, but since we/they have shown up as physical humans, then we/they have had to go through the same 'rejuvenation', mundane growth/training, and human maturity, just like everyone else (so far). If some light beings are exempt from the ball bat, then so are many others with them because the 'procedure' has been developed and is now available in the collective pool. Back to the manifestations: A virtual rather than physical way of addressing spiritual issues is obviously more expedient than the concrete physical method. We can now solve more puzzles and unknot more karmic rope in one earthly lifetime. The shift occurred when we consciously began to accept the legitimacy of our thought processes, our inner voices, and became willing to work with them and apply them. This concept has been creeping into the collective pool in seemingly small ways, such as realizing that a person who practices golf swings or basketball free-throws in his mind, becomes more proficient at these things in the physical realm. This has been statistically verified. Heretofore, we always applied principles the other way, ala, "What I experience in concrete reality shall form how I think of it." Now we can create thoughtforms consciously and know that we have a choice of whether or not to manifest them literally/physically. Our prior creation from thoughtform into physical reality has occurred on an unconscious level. However, we're learning to do this consciously, in great numbers, with increasing velocity. This is a profound shift. We're changing the dynamics of Cause and Effect. Physical Cause is no longer required to manifest a Spiritual Effect. Spiritual Cause may no longer UNconsciously manifest a Physical Effect. We will be able to control the translations. We will be able to choose. Our bodies need not be a sum of ailments to reflect our subconscious/spiritual ills. The physical world around us need not be an accumulation of our collective unconscious moods or whims. We will eventually break free of the limiting boundaries of what we think is reality. Right now, we are restricting our conscious thoughtform manifestations into what we think is feasible, practical, reasonable, by our accumulated standards. Imagine what shall occur when we accept that we build reality. Right now we may accept that "Yes, I can improve my golf score by meditating on my golf stance." It seems like a huge leap from there to "Yes, I can draw light from the ambient energy and concentrate it in my palm to create a globe of light which I may command." I think that's where we're headed. It may take a while to get there. First we have to let go of the physical reality we are all working so hard to maintain now, as is. (Bad Box, Bad. :) In the meantime, the wakeup calls and how we deal with our own soul issues can be accomplished at light speed, literally and figuratively. For example, in order to make amends for committing murder in a past life, I no longer have to be a murder victim in a subsequent life. That physical balancing required a whole lifetime to set up. Once we realize that we can learn the lesson and release/heal the soul wound through direct contact with our higher selves and no other physical construct, then we can recompense in moments, in physical isolation, using our connection with All That Is. It may sound like a free and easier ride. It isn't. To our soul, the wound is what it is. An imbalance and its resolution are still often traumatic. It's just that we don't have to involve the bodies, physical space, or Time anymore to accomplish the progress, because those are facets of the physical realm. That may be where the original imbalance occurred, but it's not where the real bookkeeping takes place. Therefore, we can work with it outside the physical realm. 06.06.2001 |
