Here's my strategy for diet/nutrition/health. I don't read the reports. I don't buy into the
stats. I know that what I believe is what truly affects my health.
I don't let the waffling 'studies' confuse the issue. I got
literally fed up with reports one week saying oatmeal was good,
then the next week saying it's bad. Enough already.
What I believe is all that counts. I don't think oatmeal, eggs, beef, food coloring, sweeteners, or anything else can save me or kill me. I have agreed that moderation sounds moderately reasonable. Nothing can save me or kill me without my consent and/or cooperation. Whatever my habits of consumption, I decide whether it's good for me or not. I know what I can get away with. I have better things to do than tally up +/- lab reports or build food pyramids. If/When it's time for me to move on from this plane, to shed this body, or participate in some lesson which requires my death or an illness, etc, then I will find a way to manifest that and all the medical reports be hanged. Maybe I'll create something exotic, or die of the flu. Whatever. In the meantime, I plan to live and enjoy. Part of that is enjoying the variety and bounty we've manifested. I wish every human could do just that. Many more die who have never read the reports or had a choice of what to consume. They do not die from complex chemical processes. They have nothing and starve to death. I have to wonder about our priorities. 06.24.2001 |
