Night
I must tell you that my bias for nighttime is very selfish. I'm fair skinned and have light eyes, so the Sun is generally just too harsh for me. Also, it's too loud. I respond much better to the cool light and soft silvery voice of the Moon. As mentioned, there are other reasons for my affinity with the Moon but my physical comfort is definitely one of the main ones. I never got a moonburn. I don't mind that the Moon's light is not her own. I'm quite content to receive what she reflects for me from the Sun. The lights in the night sky fascinate me, all of them. Twinkling stars, constellations, comets, natural satellites... space. It's all compelling. Lightning in the night sky is both frightening and exhilarating. Watching the Moon phases is watching my own power ebb and flow like the tides which the Moon also affects. Gleaning more specific information from the skies, based on the configuration of the planets, is extremely interesting and has been rewarding for me. There was recently one particular incident which I found very endearing of the Moon in her lofty perch. On the night of a full moon, I felt the full force of her energy coursing through me. It was like receiving a power boost beamed directly into my spirit from that bright orb. I was elated over nothing more than the Moon's glow upon me. I think I was glowing because of it. Others certainly responded to me as though I was possessed of some great magnetism. On the next day, I began to realize the benefits I had received. Since this is all fairly new to me, I also began to doubt what I might have experienced. Some fairly unusual things happened to me under that big Moon, like that fantastic aura I mentioned. Honestly, in the daylight afterward, I thought maybe I'd gone a little daft. Well, I received independent confirmation that I did indeed experience something special, so at midnight, I went out to see the Moon again. I expected to see another full bright Moon but I didn't. Instead of the monstrous bright orb, there was now only a small blue-gray marble in the sky. The dark blue backdrop was softened with thin smoky clouds and yet, around the Moon was a circle of clarity. I know that a halo around the Moon is an effect from ice crystals in the atmosphere. At least, that's the scientific explanation. However, as I looked up at this small Moon sitting in her halo, I also noticed three stars placed around the inside edge of the circle. A fourth lay outside the ring, peeping through the clouds and quite bright. I could see no other stars. I took a mental snapshot of that picture and thanked the Moon for her gifts and... I smiled. That configuration in the sky was telling me something. I felt it. I didn't know what the message was but it felt good. I just stared for the longest time then expressed my gratitude and came back inside. I wanted to capture that sight but I was sure that a camera would be of no use. Instead, I got on my computer and began to try to draw the image. My first impression had been that of a clock so I used that as a reference. I noted where the stars appeared to be: one at 9 o'clock, one at about 2, one between 7 and 8. The star outside the circle was at about 5 o'clock. So, in my drawing, I put the smallest star at 9, just as I saw it then placed the others as described. I tried to figure out if there was indeed a message. I still felt there was, but I had no idea what it was saying. I just stared now at my drawing. It wasn't until the next day that I realized what I had been looking at. It was my natal astrological chart! As soon as the thought crossed my mind, I knew it was right. I pulled out my graphical birth chart and made an overlay for the simulation of the Moon and her halo. The star at 9 o'clock was on the Ascendant horizon line, of course. This was the star that triggered the thought of it being a chart at all. The other two stars in the ring have very significant placement as well. They are positioned at the leading and trailing edges of the bowl shape that is my planetary configuration at birth. They also occur at the approximate location of my North and South Nodes. If you're not into Astrology, don't get hung up on this. You'll have to trust me when I say that it was all very significant. The fourth star on the outside was still a puzzle. Only days later, after speaking with a professional Astrologer acquaintance, did I know that the fourth star was actually the asteroid Chiron. Again, don't worry about the names I'm throwing out if they're unfamiliar. Let me simply summarize with this comment: The Moon and her four companions were showing me a major point on my soul path and I felt recognized by the universe as an active citizen. I have no idea what anyone else saw in the sky that night, but I saw a message for me, in code that I know and clarity that came with only minimal investigation. I did not see any way possible for me to have rearranged the Moon and some stars to suit some whim from my own subconscious. I feel that the universe made contact. In a way, it felt like a celestial pat to my cheek. I was thrilled and very grateful. The overall interpretation is that I am on the right path, what I had experienced was real, and there are many more good things to come. No wonder I smiled. Some part of my subconscious already knew that. (Night) |
