Sight

Along the same lines as vision but with a bit of a twist, is Sight. We see the world because light shines upon it and reflects back the colors, shapes, and distance information based on wave lengths and a bunch of scientific concepts I don't honestly know in any detail. Our eyes capture these images then our brains interpret them, finding in our stored catalog some explanation of what we're seeing.

That's all well and good for seeing the concrete world. We share this sight with other people. I see the sails of a boat out on the ocean. The guy standing next to me sees the sails of a boat out on the ocean. A person standing up on the cliffside behind us may see more of the boat, due to his elevation. Also, due to his slightly greater distance, the boat may look smaller to him. A guy standing on the boat can actually see the deck, the sails, the helm and such as we cannot see from our viewpoint. He may or may not notice three people on shore who are staring in his direction.

Now, as I recounted that, surely you imagined people standing on a beach and looking out at the ocean or saw a small white thing out on big blue water. Maybe you began to see more detail as I mentioned the boat's deck, sails and helm. Well, you didn't see that at all. What you are seeing is still this writing, nothing more. Your mind is what made the other pictures, by drawing on what you have seen in the past. There are names for this but to me it's just sight performed by the mind's eye and not our physical eyes. Furthermore, you did not initiate this sight, I did, by describing those things so you could see them.

Well, if I can do that from here... If I can type up words that you eventually read which cause you to see things that are not literally in front of you, why is it so difficult to believe that we can receive images from other sources? Perhaps it's only our boxed-in minds that prevent us from seeing so much more than the concrete, on-hand world.

Let me tell you my experience with seeing auras. I have felt auras countless times. I considered it nothing more than intuition or maybe 'vibes.' I'm usually able to read a person, generally if not specifically, and my impressions are most always correct. However, on a few occasions I have actually seen auras. In fact, on one particular occasion I was practically blinded by an aura. I was certainly very distracted by it as I'd never seen such a fantastic thing before.

After this event, I tried to do some research on auras. Much of the information I saw that tries to explain auras is speaking of what I'd call an image ghost or shadow, which most people can see and very few of them think of these as auras. The way our eyes work, there can be an outline around most anything if you stare at it long enough. That's mostly because we cannot keep our eyes perfectly still and we're using two lenses a slight distance apart to view a singular thing. So when we stare there is sort of residue from the slightly shifting image which is roughly the shape of the object or person, but usually in a complementary color.

Stare at any object a moment then close your eyes. You will see a negative image of it, albeit not terribly well detailed. If you stared at a red thing on a white background then looked to an empty space, you may see the same shape but in pale green because green is the complement (ie negative or opposite) of red. Similarly, blue is the complement of orange, violet is the complement of yellow, etc. This is all based on the color spectrum which we can think of as a wheel of the rainbow in which some colors are natural opposites of others, just as surely as white is the complement or opposite of black. So with the slightest movement of your eyes, you may see a complementary ghost image of an object or person and it will be a contrasting color, sometimes seeming to glow because dark becomes its opposite, light. This is not an aura.

The aura I saw required no staring. It shone across the room at me from the person who was enveloped in it. It was as though someone had put a spotlight on his face. I'd never met this person before. As I approached him, I could see the diffused edges of his aura. The 'field of light' extended about two feet all around him. It was mostly transparent but I could see the thinnest rays or beams of silvery white light that seemed to be shooting outward from him, in the same way static would make all the fur on a cat stand straight out but in keeping with the contours of its body. Within this field were sparkles, twinkling points of brighter silver-white light. There were a few black twinkling points too but the aura was overwhelmingly bright, cool and... welcoming.

I couldn't very well look at that all evening, however much I wanted to. I encountered this person within a group, in a public place. It was my first time meeting all of them and I had to put that aura out of my mind so I could behave like a normal human being in a new group in a public place. I puzzled over the aura but kept shoving it out of my consciousness so I could function. I didn't dare look at this person directly because I knew I wouldn't be able to look away. It wasn't until after the meeting that I allowed myself to recall the impact of that aura and the details of it. It was still a miraculous thing. Not only was there the sight of it, but the whole time I was in this person's presence I could feel the static/electrical charge of his aura too and I sure hoped it was going both ways. I felt that it was.

I took a chance and contacted this person later. I explained what I'd seen but without going too far into the details, just in case he was completely unaware of it or the energy I'd felt between us. As it turns out, he did indeed feel the energy flowing between us but he didn't see the light show. That's a shame. It was absolutely beautiful. The feeling was just as impressive, like the gentle pull of being drawn into a hug. Stepping into his aura was a release into a soft slow freefall of comfort. It continues to be that way every time I meet with him. He has noted a feeling of contentment associated with me, along with the free flow of energy.

I still wouldn't say that I have Aura Sight or Auric Sight, even after this event. I won't know until I see another one near this magnitude. I don't know if the aura I saw is this man's personal aura or a cosmic spotlight that shone on him to get my attention. I suspect something in the universe knew that I needed a beacon. I have since come to know how much I needed this spirit in my life and the two-foot sparkling aura was certainly trying to tell me that. It was sort of a coded message, as many messages are, but I felt a rush of openness and acceptance from this man whom I'd never seen before.

Because of the aura and the feelings associated with what I saw, I knew I could trust him. I felt that he would be accepting of me and what I was awakening to. Indeed, the spirit whom I affectionately dubbed 'Ghost' has been very helpful to me, in fact, invaluable. I knew that I loved him already and he loved me and not at all in a romantic sense, but on a soul level, as one questing spirit to another. Alas, I have not seen his aura since that initial meeting, but I feel it just as strongly when I'm in his presence and even through his voice on the phone.
