Daily Life
Jera lives most of her life away from Camelot's firehall, in the woods, gathering herbs, storing them, preparing them to be sold to healers, apothecaries, market vendors, and such. She does a fair bit of canning, preserves, drying, making tinctures, essential oils, etc. Spending so much time and work with plants, she doesn't raise nor hunt other food, so she must buy meat or broth as well as a few staples she does not grow nor make.
Her visits to Camelot have usually been to transact herb and spice sales with Lumiere as a middle man. She also ventures to outlying towns where the Rule of Order is often not so orderly. So, she sometimes sees a cruel world rarely experienced on Camelot's streets. Jera herself, being elven and female, is often at risk in these places, though she is armed and wears a cloak to conceal her identity as much as possible.
For recreation, when there's time, Jera may be found doing nothing more than sitting quietly, communing with the nature around her, often singing softly to herself. In fact, each daybreak and sunset she takes a short measure of time to meditate in this way. She has many functional skills to provide for her needs, like sewing or woodworking, but she would say that most of these are not leisure activities.
She can speak, read, and write in her own tongue plus a few variations, also in English which she uses more than elvish because it seems to predominate the world in which she now lives. She was at one time fluent in Dwarf speech, but much of that has been lost from lack of use or interest for many many years. If pressed, she may translate Black Speech, Drow, and a smattering of human languages besides English. She can write beautifully, but has to find excuses to keep in practice. There's not a lot of need for written communication in her normal day.
Occasionally Jera adds a page of notes to a large rather worn tome of information on herbs, chants, and the like, or she scribes a comment in the margins of existing pages. There are pages with journal notes as well, for significant events she wished to record. Sometimes on a whim, she sketches plants or such with vine charcoal on parchment. She also has a few basic gathering areas mapped out for reference and rough sketches of the realm with trade points marked. These go between the leather covers of the book too, which isn't really bound. It's more like a leather folder. Otherwise, parchment is primarily kept handy for packaging dried herbs and seeds.
As hinted, Jera is skilled in specific magic (light and lightning), adept in woodland living and herb lore, and very tied to the cycles of nature.
