((These are somewhat handled pieces of parchment as NS has read them many times and carried them with her since receiving them. This missive is of course penned by Wenn herself, to Nightshade, whose given name is Sarah))

Dearest Sarah,

I do recall you were not so comfortable with that name, but you know I cannot bring myself to call you otherwise. It is no doubt a surprise to hear from me after such a long time. I hope this missive finds you well, my friend. My life has changed much in the many years since our first meeting, eight years ago to be exact, and even in the two or three years since I spoke with you last. I still recall our first meeting all too vividly in nightmares. I revisit that event on many a night and in that darkness, you were my only light. I thank you again for that. You had no cause or onus to help a stranger. Twas your good soul that saw me through those few dark days.

I write you now to make a request. I do not know who else might help, nor even how to ask another. I am to marry soon, within the month in fact. This is the most joyous my life has ever been. My beloved Lord Wolf is more than I could ever describe in words and I do love him more than words could ever tell. I am sure with this bit of news you can guess what I may ask of you, but let me add another bit to catch you up and further explain my concern. Lord Wolf has adopted a son, a seven year old child, whom I do consider as much my own as if I had given birth to him... and there is a daughter, though I know very little of her. She is from his life before we met and there are circumstances that make discussion of her uncomfortable, so I do not press.

My friend, I ask you to write or come to me and tell me what you can of that event some eight years in my past and what bearing it may have upon my future. You know why I cannot bring myself to write more specifically of it in my query... but I beg you to be as detailed as you can in your response. This has become important to me as I prepare to take my vows with one who deserves to know all there is to know about me and especially that which may affect him and our future together.

I have sent along enough gold crowns to bring you here in comfort and would be delighted to see you again. However, I would not inconvenience you. If you send a missive instead, please keep the coin, for I owe you more than I could ever repay. I do in fact owe you my life.

Yours In Friendship,
Wenndolyne of Flaxley
and now of Wolf Keep
