Quietus Dark Wolf

Quietus DarkWolf is, in his human form, the 6ft 2in image of a lean natural born hunter. His jet black hair is oft tied back from his shoulders, grey eyes seeming cold and piercing. He is beautiful and can be very charming, quite charismatic, despite a penchant for dressing in all black and generally exuding a sinister aura. His clothing is befitting of a stylish rogue though he insists on the finest cloth for his flowing shirt, close fitting trousers and the best leather for his vest and boots.

He may assume the form of most any creature though he prefers the forms of animals that are hunters by nature such as falcon or bear. His favorite form is that of a black dire wolf, which he assumes in mockery of Lord Wolf's white arctic wolf form and to lead the Pack in Wolf's absence during rare times when the brothers are on good terms. Whichever form he takes, the coloring is always jet black.

Quietus' weapons of choice are twin scimitars, Soul Seeker & Night Bringer, both of which are Vorporal Blades, magical weapons of great power and intelligence, able to fight on their own without a hand to guide them. Soul Bringer feeds upon the soul of an attacker which is consumed by the blade upon death. Night Bringer not only darkens the victim's soul but steals his sight, presuming he is not killed by it outright. A few minor cuts will send the blades into a feeding frenzy, which usually ends with the blade embedded in the victim's heart. During this time the swords are difficult to control for they know only hunger. Quietus has learned to control them and transfer some of their power to himself, yet he is not their master by any means.

He will not usually act by direct means, preferring to work his will from behind the scenes as a puppet master does, though he is a brilliant and outstanding military leader, if the cause suits him. He is ruthlessand cold blooded but if it meets his purposes, can seem surprisingly kind and gentle... before he strikes. The lives of others mean very little to him, particularly those of lesser beings, which to Quietus, is most everyone. His bitterness leaves little room in his heart for true compassion.

Over the ages, Quietus has many times sought to kill Lord Wolf as he is head of the House of Wolf and has often thwarted the Dark Wolf's efforts. If he cannot get to Wolf, he may attack those close to him. In the past he has wiped out whole kingdoms simply because Wolf chose to live there for a time. In truth, he would prefer to not only kill Wolf, but to first reduce him to the point where death is begged for. So far Wolf, with equal access to power and with the help of friends, has managed to spoil every attempt upon him.

Like Wolf, Quietus is a magic user of the highest caliber, gaining much knowledge and experience from having been alive countless ages. The DarkWolf has, not surprisingly, concentrated on the dark arts and through study, trial and error, divine intervention, believes he has found a way to cheat death. If his body is killed, his essence will seek out another body and make use of it as a "host".

Being twins, light and dark, goodness and evil... they are part of the Balance set forth by the Mother and the Powers that Be. Lord Wolf could not be all honor and duty without the vile selfishness of Quietus to counter him.
